Yogourmét keifer starter is simple and easy to use; I didn't even bother with the instructions.I put one envelope in a quart jar filled with organic, whole milk and leave it on the counter if I'm feeling lazy. It takes about 48 hours at room temperature for the first batch to culture. I've also used the yoghurt setting on my instant pot. After the first batch is done, you do NOT need to use a fresh envelope for the next batch. After you have prepared keifer with an active culture, you can use a fat spoonful of keifer as a starter instead of the dehydrated keifer grains and save the rest of the envelopes for when you fall behind. The flavor is sweet and slightly tart and store-bought keifers just can't compare.Sorry, Nancy's. ;)If you use fairlife filtered milk, you don’t have to bring it up and down in temp…. Just straight into a glass jar , shake it up and leave it on the counter. Delicious. Only down side is I haven’t had much luck making a batch from the prepared kefir from this product. It is so yummy though , I don’t care.If you like yoghurt you have to try this, it's so easy to make. Ignore the instructions, simply add half a packet to a 1/2 gallon milk and leave out of the fridge for 24-36 hours until it sets. Then place it in the fridge and use as required, it will last 5-7 days. Before you run out, add a cup full to another half gallon and leave out to start the next batch. If you get the timing right the new batch will be ready just as the old one runs out. You can do this 7 times so it costs about 10c plus the cost of the milk per half gallon.I used kefir and home made sauerkraut to get rid of my IBS.Simple healthy chocolate milk recipe: add heaped teaspoon chocolate powder to 8-10oz kefir and add stevia powder or liquid to taste. I don't put much stevia in as I like a little tart.Try it with raw full fat milk, it's sublime but takes longer to set, maybe 48+ hours.Check out my website for more healthy inofrmation and recipes improveyourhealthwithnutrition.comimproveyourhealthwithnutrition(DOT)com. ENJOY.I absolutely love this kefir. It is creamy thick but not too thick. Maybe the consistency of eggnog. I make it in 24 hours, put it in the fridge and flavor it or drink it plain. My dogs love it too, I would think it is good for them also.I like using this makes the best kefirThese are not dairy free! The label needs a warning about this. I made kefir using nut milk with these grains. My child (allergic to milk) liked it and drank a whole glass of it with some maple syrup stirred in. It then gave him an allergic reaction and I had to do my own research to figure out why. I now understand that the grains are actually “grown” in milk, but this is not stated anywhere on the box! I had to use Google to figure it out. This is dangerous and neglectful of Yogourmet to market this as something you can use to make dairy-free kefir at home. Beware if you or your children have a milk allergy.I used this to make MILK kafir! Pretty good flavor and easy to use. Thanks to other reviews I got it started and didn't boil milk - just warmed THEN I looked at box and was disappointed to see expiration. How am I going to use this in 2 weeks and not have digestive explosion?
